Before a packed house at the L’Institut de gériatrie de Montreal last night, Morris Goodman, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at Pharmascience, and Jean Coutu, Founder of Groupe Jean Coutu, highlighted their strong friendship as seasoned comrades and classmates from the Faculty of Pharmacy at l’Université de Montréal. They were honored for their esteemed contributions in the Health Care sector and for their philanthropic leadership during the evening’s event themed Dégustation-Découvertes, in benefit of Fondation Institut de gériatrie de Montréal.

Guy Breton, Rector of l’Université de Montréal praised Mr. Goodman by saying “As role of Rector, one of the most valuable privileges is meeting people like Mr. Goodman, one of the biggest strivers of modern Quebec”.

Andrew Molson, Chairman of RES REPUBLICA Consulting Group, unveiled two Montreal Canadiens Captain Jerseys personalized as Goodman and Coutu, underlining their university graduation year, 1953. “I quote the famous singer Frank Sinatra when I say 1953 was a great year; we are extremely to have had the chance to have engaged with great leaders like Mr. Goodman and Mr. Coutu.”

David Goodman, Chief Executive Officer at Pharmascience, was present at the event in support of the tribute to his father. “I admire the passion that my father possesses and I am proud of the message that he shared with the guests, which underlines the importance of demonstrating passion in everything that we do”.
