PHARMASCIENCE CANADA LAUNCHES PMS-DOXYLAMINE-PYRIDOXINE FOR THE TREATMENT OF NAUSEA AND VOMITING DURING PREGNANCY


During pregnancy, changes in hormones can cause several women to experience nausea and vomiting. Moreover, certain smells and movements can even worsen this feeling of discomfort[1].

Pharmascience Canada is proud to offer Canadian women a new alternative for the treatment of nausea and vomiting related to pregnancy, by launching Prpms-DOXYLAMINE-PYRIDOXINE, a generic bioequivalent to PrDiclectin®Prpms-DOXYLAMINE-PYRIDOXINE is an anti-nauseant that treats nausea and vomiting during pregnancy and is available in 10 mg/10 mg tablets[2].

Key facts about nausea and vomiting related to pregnancy[3] :

  • Between 50% and 80% of women are affected by nausea and vomiting during pregnancy;
  • For some women, nausea and vomiting may persist throughout their pregnancy;
  • In extreme cases, some patients cannot ingest liquids or solid foods, which can lead to unforeseen complications, such as dehydration.

However, most of these symptoms usually disappear after the first trimester and may be successfully managed through a wide range of therapeutic methods[4].
