Montreal, January 19, 2017 – Obtaining a post-secondary diploma or a graduate degree is an important accomplishment for young people who are venturing into the workforce. Beginning a career straight out of school, with little to no work experience, can be daunting and difficult. That is why Pharmascience Inc. believes in granting young people the opportunity to showcase their knowledge, skills and talent. Over the last 5 years, Pharmascience has invested over id="mce_marker" million in Next Generation Leaders, its flagship program and is committed to renewing its investment for the next three years. Proudly headquartered in Montreal, Pharmascience Inc. is the largest pharmaceutical employer in Quebec with over 1500 employees at its helm. “Pharmascience understands the importance of investing in young people because they are emerging leaders,” says Dr. David Goodman, Chief Executive Officer “Teaching young people and awarding them the opportunity to learn is very rewarding for us as an organization, and for them, as they enter the workforce”.

We are proud that Pharmascience has been selected as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People by Mediacorp Canada Inc. in its annual survey of Canadian businesses.

First published in 2002, Canada's Top Employers for Young People is an editorial competition organized by the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that offer the nation's best workplaces and programs for young people just starting their careers. The employers on this list are Canada's leaders in attracting and retaining younger employees to their organizations.

“Being a Canadian based global pharma company headquartered in Quebec differentiates us from the rest”, says Benoit Lemelin, Vice-President People and Public Affairs and Communications “This is one of the many reasons why young people feel they can really make their mark and have the opportunity to influence and drive meaningful change.”

We are proud to offer a series of game changing leadership development journeys programs. Pharmascience Inc. was recognized by Mediacorp Canada Inc. for our many initiatives including:

  • Our Next Generation Leaders  internship program, a one of a kind paid internship for over 40 University students each year.
  • Our Leadership Rotation Program, allowing young graduates the opportunity to develop their leadership abilities and hone in on their business skills through various departmental rotations, within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Business Units and Centres of Excellence.
  • Our Ignite Journey, an integrated leadership program and a true game-changer in talent development.
  • Pharmascience University, a self-serve web platform that boasts a full suite of external and internal trainings designed to propel accountability and ownership of career advancement.

New this year, Pharmascience’s Next Generation Leaders internship program partnered with international associations to host students from abroad. This innovative addition to the NGL program offers young people additional opportunities to interact with peer groups from other regions of the world, all while gaining valuable work experience at a Global Pharma Head Office.

In addition we are proud to be introducing our Youth Mentoring Youth initiative where our Youth alumni’s will have the opportunity to coach and mentor the new cohort of NGL interns joining Pharmascience this summer.
