Mike Ghazal, 2011 Recipient of the Goodman Award & Janic Alarie, 2011 Recipient of the Wise Award

Nominated and chosen by their colleagues, the recipients of these annual awards exemplify the key attributes and dynamic personas of Pharmascience founders, Morris Goodman and Ted Wise.

In 1983, Morris Goodman co-founded Pharmascience Inc. with his good friend and colleague, Ted Wise. An entrepreneur and pioneer in the Canadian generic drug industry, Morris Goodman dedicated his career to creating the difference in healthcare in Canada and worldwide. A fellow pharmacist, Mr. Wise brought his expertise in marketing, sales and business development in the area of innovation to the partnership. Together, the pair established one of Canada's fastest growing major pharmaceutical companies, offering patients worldwide over 340 generic, innovative, branded and OTC products. 

Michael Ghazal, Regional Sales and Business Development Manager covering the Caribbean, Central and South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, is known by his colleagues as entrepreneurial in his business approach and always seeking new opportunities. Michael has  a strong business acumen, work ethic and constantly strives to contribute over and above expectations. His passion for his work and his life extends to his customers where he always searches for collaborative opportunities to nurture the growth of the business. A former litigation attorney, his career at Pharmascience began 5 years ago, working directly with Morris Goodman, it is fitting that this award was presented to him for his achievements.

Janic Alarie, Customer Service Manager for the International business, has been instrumental in contributing to the Operational Excellence program at Pharmascience, dedicating her time to an unrelenting focus on external and internal customers. Always a team player and held in high regard by her peers, Janic is dedicated to executing and delivering over and above expectations for global and domestic clients. True to the attributes of Ted Wise, Janic supports the growth of the organization as well as the personal growth of her fellow colleagues. Working at Pharmascience for over 7 years, Janic is a Pharmascience champion and team player.
