Passing of Brian Des Islet, PhD, Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer, Scientific Affairs

It is with great regret that I announce today the passing of Brian Des Islet, PhD, Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer, Scientific Affairs, on Sunday, June 5 of natural causes. He leaves behind his wife Kristen, his children Nick, David and Michael, as well as many family members, friends and colleagues.

Brian had been part of the Pharmascience family for six years. Before then he led a distinguished career at Novopharm and Teva, where he rose from lab chemist to Vice President of Scientific Affairs. He was a caring person who always put people first. He will be remembered for his empathy, but also for his extensive scientific experience and knowledge.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 2pm to 5pm at the Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. East, Oshawa, ON). Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Kent Major, Global Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety and Risk Management, will be acting as the interim leader of the Scientific Affairs team until further notice.

On behalf of the entire Pharmascience team, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Brian will be missed.

Best regards,

David Goodman
CEO, Pharmascience
